How Hard Can It Be To Buy A New Honda?

I decided I wanted a new car, so after alot of thought, it was pretty much down to a Honda Civic or VW Golf. I wanted 5 doors, sunroof, petrol, manual gears, climate control, on £120 road tax, and around 45mpg, so pretty basic requirements right ? Wrong! I have seen many Honda Civic’s, but I hadn’t seen any with 5 doors or at least I didn’t think I had. I had seen some with what looked a door type pattern but no handles, so I had assumed it was just decoration due to the length. I had also not seen any with a sun roof either, kinda like the Honda Jazz I don’t recall seeing a 3 door or a sunroof on them either so was thinking its a Honda thing. I was also curious about visibility with that really odd placed spoiler on the back window…

I decided along with my mother who is 58, we would go and have a look around the dealership, after I finished work around 8pm, Getting time off work is hard at the moment as there is a bit of overtime around. Given the state of the economy I’m grabbing all the extra cash I can, especially while looking at a new car. We drove up, parked in the customer carpark, where we saw the security guard in a BMW X5 with his girlfriend rather than in the security office, he watched us get out the car, walk thru the stumps around the main entrance and to the front of the dealership courtyard.  We walked around comparing the Type-S, ES and SE models, looked at prices then my mum spotted 5 door Civics have handles on the inside but not on the outside. We assumed it was remote unlock or anti-car-jacking or something.

We carried on looking around and then I saw a mark on it and reached out to touch it, and discovered they have a concealed handle in the back quater window area which is very clever and cool. So that solved that question, we was then looking for a sunroof it was only went looking at one that said built in sat-nav that we noticed 2 sun roofs under a panoramic roof, but the glass roof was almost the same colour as the car and not easy to see.

The security guard came up looked at the same car, which was a Red ES model, went to his security office. We was then looking at Type-R when a voice boomed out of a speaker system “Attention You, In the Court Yard, You are being watched, Leave Immediately”. We looked around and thought fine, I’ll take my £16k to dealership who wants my money. As we got back towards the car the security guy was just getting back into the BMW with his girlfriend and pretended not to see us.

Now where I come from there is a saying that goes “If you live in a greenhouse, don’t throw stones”, so this lazy bastard security guard has deserted his post to be with his girlfriend in a BMW X5, and pisses of a customer with 16k in his sky rocket. Thats called throwing stones in my book, so no bloody wonder the UK industry is on its arse when they hire staff like that. What must the monkey dealership salesmen be like if they can’t even hire a man to sit in a box ?

If you want to buy a car, DON’T buy it from Arnold Clark aka Honda Stockport, they must be totally incompetant.
