Death in the Community
Whilst everyone is busy feeling sorry for Jade, Farrah Fawcett and now Wacko Jacko, but in the heat of Jacko’s death a well known and respected member of a forum, where I feel part of the community (Acorn Domains) has died.
Khalid (Jeewhiz), recently has surgery to have most or all of his Bowel removed due to Ulcerative Colitis which he had suffered from for a long time, I believe 6 years or more.
It really brings it home to you, when someone close died, Jacko, Jade and Farrah are just faces on a TV who made MILLIONS, where as Khalid was one of us, struggling to make it thru life, start businesses and make a way for his young family (wife and 1 year daughter), now he was taken away. It brings our mortality into your face in a very real way.
It is perhaps the central paradox of our existence…

A rather gloomy quote but seems apt, and makes it seem less scary that mortality comes for us all.
